The Alb (Shrewsbury)

The Alb as well as being a Bar, it is a 10 bedroom hotel. They take group bookings, hold Cocktail classes and is a happy place to be. The staff are welcoming and friendly.  Entry is via a side entrance with level. They have a dress code in place i.e no hi-visibility workwear or dirty boots, no sportwear-team colours/shirts or anything that is deemed racist or offensive. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult and anyone under the age of 18 must leave the premises by 9.30pm.

They offer a varied menu including a buffet menu and bottomless brunch as well as special occasion like Valentines day. They have a children's menu. High chairs are available for little children, There are baby changing facilities on-site.

The hotel is over 200 years old, so while having level access it is difficult for the whole premises to be disabled friendly (see notes below). Old building can present issues for people less able.

Staff are welcoming and friendly and want their customers to enjoy their visit.

Disabled Access:

• The entrance and the bar all the way through to the end of the garden involves no steps, however the doorway to the conservatory which leads to the garden and the toilets is a little narrow.
• There is a small step leading into the toilets which bend sharply to the right and left at a 90o angle: the step into the toilet is only 5cm high (we are unable to have a ramp into this as it is a fire exit corridor and restrictions are not permittable.
• The men's toilet features two urinals on the left and a cubicle. This toilet has a hand rail but is not big enough for a wheelchair
• The ladies toilet has two cubicles, one of these is suitable for Ambulant users as there is a little more space than a usual toilet - this features hand rails.
• The restaurant is up a steep set of stairs and has a large unisex toilet on the same floor. Most of the seating in the bar area or conservatory is fixed or a high table - they have moveable seating in the conservatory.
